About the location: The Outdoor Classroom is hosted by Marlene Boernsen at her 1063 Tanger Ave. bee yard. The yard has parking, shade, picnic tables, honey lemonade, and restrooms.:
What to bring: Clean bee suit, lawn chair and wear clean shoes. Nitrile gloves, shoe covers and clean hive tools will be provided. Invite your beekeeping friends to attend the Outdoor Classroom

Information about guest educator, Dr. Katie Lee:
Katie Lee is the University of Minnesota Apiculture Extension Educator and Minnesota Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Coordinator. She earned her master’s and PhD in entomology from the University of Minnesota, specializing in honey bee health and varroa mite sampling. Her field experience includes six years assessing commercial colonies for the Bee Informed Partnership and managing a 200-colony study on the impacts of pollinator plantings. Currently, Katie conducts applied research, develops beekeeping resources, and connects individuals with SARE resources to support sustainable agriculture.
